About Me

Hey! Thanks for visiting my site. Ill try to keep it updated so you know whats going on in my life.

This summer went really really well. Again, I worked in the neuropharmacology lab in Hershey. The research was same old same old... making mutations in a receptor (or die trying), growing cells with my mutated receptor (or lack there of), and then doing an assay on these cells to test the receptors binding affinity of different drugs. The P.I. in my lab has been at this for almost 25 years! That gives you an idea of how slow this research is. We are actually working on putting out a paper in the Journal of Neuroscience pending the relavance of my research. Im excited, but again, publishing is another one of those slow processes.

In addition to work, I also did a little bit of traveling this summer. I kicked off my travels with a day trip to the Italian Marked in Philly for a little Gino's and a little Pat's. Then my Aunt Ann, my cousin Molly, and my mom and I had the annual 'Womens Weekend Away' in Saratoga Springs, New York. We went to the races, had some crepes that were litterally to die for (given the situation, I would charge in front of a bus to get another one), and went to the Yaddo. In the end of July, I embarked on my last and final horah of the summer to Vinalhaven, Maine. Great times spent water skiing, fishing, picnicing, and seal watching. From Maine, I hopped a bus to Cooperstown, New York. I met some interesting 'blokes' along the way and finally made my arrival. What was I doing in Cooperstown? Only attending the best concert of my lifetime - Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson at Doubleday Field! Awesome! And now my summer is winding down and Im getting ready for school again.

Im headed back to Penn State for one more semester this fall. Im taking a microbiology class with a lab, a few psychology classes, microeconomics, and a computer science class. Hopefully they wont be too challenging, Im also taking the PCATS in October and have a lot of reviewing to do for that yet. I intend to graduate in December sometime around the 18th...and I am SO ready! Then I'll have a bit of time off before I go to pharmacy school in the fall of 2005. Keep your fingers crossed for my acceptance by the way ;). University of Maryland is my first choice school, followed by Temple, University of North Carolina, Howard, and Philadelphia College of Pharmacy.

This is the Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.
